Our History
Thomas’s Fulham joined the Thomas’s family as the fourth prep school in 2005. Housed in a refurbished Victorian building – formerly home to the Chelsea College of Arts & Design – the school sits in a light, bright and well-appointed space overlooking South Park on Hugon Road. In 2024, the lease was renewed for a further 25 years.
While our site opened in 2005, our foundations go back over 50 years. Founded by David and Joanna Thomas, the Thomas’s London Day Schools group was established on an educational ethos that remains unchanged today. Our core value of kindness has been central since the earliest days, as has our commitment to academic excellence, a breadth of opportunity, and a steadfast focus on the joy of childhood. With ease, we bridge this heritage with modern values. We are privileged to play our part in the remarkable story of the Thomas’s schools.
On our very first day, we welcomed 97 pupils aged 4 to 6. Today, we are a thriving school of 370 pupils from 4 to 11 years. We proudly celebrated our 20th anniversary in 2025. Reflecting the value we place on our staff as our greatest resource, five of our original 12 founding members of staff are still with us today.
Our past pupils frequently return, whether for informal visits, alumni events or as Gap Assistants – they reflect fondly on how their primary years prepared them for the next step of their educational journey. These lasting relationships are a testament to the enduring strength of the Thomas’s Fulham community.
