Community
Our ethos is built on a culture of kindness. Guided by our values of being givers, not takers, our pupils are encouraged to look beyond the school gates and become active contributors within their community. Whether it’s Reception crafting Christmas decorations for their annual fair or Year 6 House Prefects personally delivering donations to the Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank, our children learn that leadership starts with service. This spirit extends to independent fundraising, where pupils’ own initiatives – from cake sales to sponsored walks – are celebrated in assemblies as illustrative of budding social responsibility.
Thomas’s Fulham Community Partnerships (TFCP)
The TFCP serves as a vital bridge between our school and the wider local area, providing essential funding and volunteer support to our five partner schools and other projects. From supporting SEAPIA’s cooking programme, which provides 50 hot meals daily, to funding places at Ray’s Playhouse and supporting Dance West’s ‘Fit and Fed’ initiative, our impact is both practical and meaningful.
This commitment is bolstered by the Thomas’s Foundation Volunteer Readers, whose regular presence in local classrooms fosters a shared love of literacy. As one partner school shared: “The support from Thomas’s Fulham provides real and lasting value, sparking aspirations and creativity in our children that go far beyond their previous horizons.”
Lasting Connections
Our senior pupils lead the charge during our annual Community Days, rolling up their sleeves for everything from gardening at SEAPIA and litter picking in local parks to revitalising school libraries. These hands-on efforts are mirrored by a calendar of whole-school events, including our popular Dog Show, Book Drives and biennial charity partnerships that bring significant fundraising. Even our second-hand uniform sales serve a higher purpose, with all proceeds going to the charities and partners that we support. Through these diverse initiatives, our pupils discover that they are part of something bigger, proving that through collective action, they can influence the world around them.
The Parent Teacher Association
Our school’s success is rooted in the strength of relationships and a true sense of community – a shared vision and partnership between our pupils, their families and our team.
A vital component of this partnership is our PTA, which provides an informal link between the school and the parent body. Class Representatives are appointed each Summer Term to serve for the following academic year. They work closely with fellow reps in their year group, as well as the PTA Committee and Chair, who typically serve a two-year term.
The PTA supports the Thomas’s community by providing an active communication link on non-academic matters. Additionally, the PTA and parent volunteers support our outreach commitments to local partnerships and charities. Families are brought together through a range of events and activities, while volunteers also manage our thriving second-hand uniform shop.
